Information about S/MIME Users

In the Email Encryption module, information about the S/MIME users of a domain is displayed.

In the Email Encryption > S/MIME Users module, information about the S/MIME users of the selected domain is displayed.

The number of S/MIME users is displayed in the drop-down menu Total number of S/MIME users. In the drop-down menu, you can select one of the following options:

  • Total number of S/MIME users: The number of users who have a valid S/MIME certificate or for whom an S/MIME certificate has been ordered is displayed.
  • Number of active S/MIME users: The number of users who have a valid S/MIME certificate is displayed.

Further information about the S/MIME users is displayed in a table. The table lists the users who match the selected option in the drop-down menu.

The table contains the following information.

By default, not all information is displayed. With , you can configure which information is to be displayed in the table.

Information

Explanation

Email address

The user’s email address is displayed.

First name

The user’s first name is displayed.

Last name

The user’s last name is displayed.

Subscription

The status of the subscription is displayed.

Note:

S/MIME certificates are ordered on a subscription basis. As long as the subscription is active, it will be renewed for another year three months before its expiration date.

The following statuses are possible:

  • Ordered: The subscription has been ordered, but is not active yet. The user does not yet have an S/MIME certificate.
  • Active: The subscription is active. The user has an S/MIME certificate. The subscription will be renewed every year.
  • Expires: The subscription has been canceled. The expiration date of the subscription is displayed.
    Note:

    If the subscription is canceled less than three months before the end of the current subscription year, the subscription will be renewed for another year.

    Otherwise, the subscription will expire at the end of the current subscription year.

Encrypt (if possible)

It is displayed whether the user’s emails are encrypted with S/MIME whenever it is possible.

S/MIME signature

It is displayed whether the S/MIME signature is activated for the user.

Certificate expiration date

The expiration date of the current S/MIME certificate is displayed.

Note:

The expiration date only refers to the current S/MIME certificate, not to the subscription. This date is irrelevant for canceling the subscription.
