Setting up an Audit Access

Set up an audit access to grant authorized persons access to archived emails of your domains.

You have activated Archiving.

  1. Log in to the Control Panel with your administrative credentials.
  2. Select your domain from the scope selection.
  3. Navigate to Security Settings > Archiving.
  4. Select the tab Audit Access Management.
  5. Note:

    The audit is performed by two auditors according to the dual control principle. The first auditor is an authorized external person..

    Enter the email address of the external auditor in the field Select first auditor.
  6. Note:

    The second auditor is a user from the Control Panel and monitors the activities of the first auditor.

    Enter the email address of the internal auditor in the field Select second auditor (4-eyes principle).
  7. Click on the field Access to emails (from – to).

    A calendar opens.

  8. In the calendar, select the time period from which the auditors are allowed to view archived emails.

    All days of the selected period are highlighted in the calendar. The start date and the end date are displayed below the calendar.

  9. To close the calendar, click outside it.
  10. Click on the field Access active (from – to).

    A calendar opens.

  11. In the calendar, select the time period for which you want to activate the audit access.

    All days of the selected period are highlighted in the calendar. The start date and the end date are displayed below the calendar.

  12. To close the calendar, click outside it.
  13. Click on Activate audit access.

You have set up an audit access. The audit access is activated for the selected period. Both auditors receive an email with their personal access data and the address of the audit access. The auditors can activate the audit access together.
