Processing of Unidentifiable Emails

The processing of emails whose sender or recipient cannot be identified differs from the default procedure.

The processing of emails whose sender or recipient cannot be identified differs from the default procedure (see Processing of Mailboxes).

The emails are assigned in the Control Panel as follows:

  • If the sender cannot be identified, she/he is replaced by the mailbox owner. The email direction is set to outgoing.
  • If the recipient cannot be identified, she/he is replaced by the mailbox owner. The email direction is set to incoming.
  • If the sender and the recipient cannot be identified, the sender and the recipient are replaced by the owner of the mailbox. The email direction is set to incoming.

This procedure is only relevant for classifying the emails in the Control Panel so that their metadata is maintained.
