Setting up a New Transport Rule

You can set up a transport rule for recipients outside your organization.

You have configured a connector for the outbound email traffic (see Configuring Connector for Outbound Email Traffic).

Only after creating a transport rule can the previously created connector be applied to your outbound email traffic.

  1. Log in to the administration environment of Microsoft 365.
  2. Navigate to mail flow > Rules > Rules.
  3. Click on the plus sign and select

  4. Select More options....

  5. Enter a name for the new rule.
  6. Select the point The recipient is located... > Outside the organization from the drop-down menu Apply this rule, if....

  7. Select the point Redirect the message to... > The following connector from the drop-down menu Do the following....

  8. Select the newly created connector Configuring Connector for Outbound Email Traffic.

  9. Save your settings.

    From now on, outgoing emails to recipients outside your organization will be routed to our infrastructure before being delivered to their respective recipients.

A new transport rule has been set up.
