Setting up a Forwarding Connector

Set up a forwarding connector to Hornetsecurity to support multiple environments for one domain.

  1. From the drop-down menu From:, select Office 365 and, under To:, select Your organization’s email server.
  2. Click on Continue.

  3. Enter a name for this connector in the field Name.
  4. Optional: Enter a description in the field Description.
  5. Leave the Turn it on and Retain internal Exchange email headers checkboxes selected.
  6. Click on Continue.

  7. Keep the default setting <NO TRANSLATION> and click on Continue.

  8. Click on + and enter the following smarthost: mx01.hornetsecurity.com.

  9. Click on Save and then on Continue.
  10. Keep the default settings <NO TRANSLATION> and Issued by a trusted certificate authority (CA) under Connect only if the recipient's email server certificate matches this criteria. Click on Continue.

  11. Enter an email address from a different environment (not Microsoft 365) and start the validation.

    Note:

    In some cases it is indicated that the test email failed to be sent, but the email should still arrive in the specified mailbox. After configuring the domain as an internal relay, check the sending manually.

  12. After the successful validation, click on Save to complete the connector configuration.

    The forwarding connector has been successfully set up.

Subsequently, configure your domain as a relay so that messages will be forwarded to the other environment.
