Adding an MX Record to the DNS

To route emails through the Hornetsecurity services, modify the MX records to match those of the Hornetsecurity infrastructure.

MX records point to the servers that receive incoming emails for email addresses in that domain. By adding our servers to the MX records of your domains, incoming emails for your domains will be routed to our servers before being received by your mailboxes. This allows the emails to be filtered and then forwarded to Microsoft 365.

Add the following MX records to the DNS zone of your domain:

Replace <customerdomain.tld> with your actual domain.

Your emails will only be routed to our services. If you have configured Microsoft 365 as a destination server in the Contol Panel (see Configuring Microsoft 365 as a Destination Server), the emails are forwarded to your Microsoft 365 environment.
