Importing Certificate in Windows

  1. Double-click on the downloaded certificate under Downloads in your browser or in your file system.
  2. Select Store Location under Current User.

  3. Click on Next.
  4. Select the downloaded certificate under File name.

  5. Click on Next.
  6. In the field Password, enter the personal certificate passphrase which you defined in the previous section.
  7. Do not change the settings under Import options.

  8. Click on Next.
  9. Select where the certificate should be stored. We recommend the settings shown in the screenshot.

  10. Click on Next.

    A window with an overview of the settings appears.

  11. Click on Finish.

    Your personal certificate is installed on your computer.


    The certificate is imported automatically only by the default Windows email client. If you are using another email client, please import the certificate manually according to the instructions of your email client.


In order to be able to read your e-mails on all your devices, you must install your personal certificate on every one of them. The supported operating systems and associated installation options can be found under Installation of the Personal Certificate.
